LPLP is an indie production company which specializes in queer filmmaking and arts events. Our mission is to support marginalized voices however we can; to elevate and immortalize underrepresented stories with a focus on new perspectives and innovation.

We primarily produce queer & BIPOC films, but we also fund & organize art initiatives and arts & culture events that promote queer & BIPOC talent.

“L’art pour L’art”

is a French slogan from the latter half of the 19th century — a phrase that expresses the philosophy that 'true' art is utterly independent of all social values and utilitarian functions.

“Art for art’s sake”

became a bohemian creed in the 19th century; a slogan raised in defiance of those who thought that the value of art was to serve some political, moral or didactic purpose.

“… under the sun there neither exists nor can exist any work more thoroughly dignified, more supremely noble, than this very poem… a poem which is a poem and nothing more, this poem written solely for the poem's sake.”

Edgar Allan Poe
